Typhoon Usagi situation report (2)

     The Hong Kong Observatory issued the No. 8 Southwest Gale or Storm Signal at 12.25am today (September 23) to replace the No. 8 Northwest Gale or Storm Signal. Severe Typhoon Usagi has weakened into a typhoon.

     According to the Hospital Authority, as at 1am, a total of 10 people, including seven males and three females have sought medical treatment at the Accident and Emergency Departments at public hospitals.  Four of them were admitted, while the other six were discharged after treatment.

     The 1823 Government Call Centre has received 51 reports of fallen trees as at midnight.

     As at 12.30am, the Home Affairs Department has opened 27 temporary shelters, with a total of 254 people seeking refuge at the shelters.

     On air traffic, 370 passenger flights have been cancelled and 76 delayed as at midnight.

     No report of flooding or landslide has been received.
