The Hong Kong Observatory issued the No. 8 Northwest Gale or Storm Signal at 6.40pm today (September 22).
On cases of fallen trees, the Development Bureau has received 11 reports as at 9pm and the Leisure and Cultural Services Department one.
As at 9.30pm, the Home Affairs Department has opened 26 temporary shelters, with a total of 209 people seeking refuge at the shelters.
On air traffic, 370 passenger flights have been cancelled and 76 delayed as at 9pm.
No report of flooding or landslide has been received.
The signal is expected to remain in force overnight.
