As Typhoon Usagi is approaching Hong Kong, the Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department reminds crop farmers, fish farmers and fishermen that they should take precautionary measures immediately.

Crop farmers should harvest the crops as soon as possible.  They should also make sure structures in the farm are securely fixed and the drainage system functions properly.

Mariculturists should properly secure their mariculture rafts, properly place the appliances, put away the canopy and keep the fish cage closed while pond fish farmers should pay attention to the drainage system and avoid blockage caused by garbage.
