CE to visit Chongqing

     The Chief Executive, Mr C Y Leung, will lead a delegation from local industrial, commercial and professional sectors to visit Chongqing from September 26 to 27.

     On September 26, Mr Leung will address the Chongqing-Hong Kong Business Symposium and meet with leaders of the Chongqing Municipal Government. He will also officiate at the relocation ceremony of the Chongqing Liaison Unit of the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region and at the opening ceremony of the Chongqing Office of the Hong Kong Trade Development Council, as well as attending the Chongqing-Hong Kong Economic and Trade Cooperation Exchange Meeting. He will also join the Chongqing-Hong Kong Business Luncheon.

     The next day, Mr Leung and the delegation will visit the Liangjiang New Area and local enterprises. On the same day, Mr Leung will also meet Hong Kong people who study and do business in Chongqing to keep abreast of their living conditions.

     Included on the visit will be the Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development, Mr Gregory So; the Director of Information Services, Mr Michael Wong; the Private Secretary to the Chief Executive, Mr Carlson Chan; the Senior Special Assistant to the Chief Executive, Mr Chan Kin-ping; and the Assistant Director (Media), Mr Nick Au Yeung.

     The Chief Executive will depart for Chongqing in the morning on September 26 and return to Hong Kong in the evening on September 27. During his absence, the Chief Secretary for Administration, Mrs Carrie Lam, will be the Acting Chief Executive.
