Asiya Investments launches regional headquarters in Hong Kong
*********************************************************

Kuwait-based Asiya Investments today (September 18) announced the opening of its regional headquarters in Hong Kong.

The regional headquarters is called Asiya Investments Hong Kong Ltd and the Group Managing Director, Mr Ahmad Al-Hamad, said that the Hong Kong headquarters is spearheading the company's Asia expansion.

"Asia remains an under-allocated region for most global investors. It recovered from the global financial crisis quickly and has since emerged as one of the few regions in the world which continue to grow significantly.

"Corporations and governments in Asia have begun to seek the financial resources to sustain this growth. We are confident that this trend will continue and that the region's capital markets will further evolve. It is our goal to participate in this trend and to present our clients with investment opportunities arising from this transformation. Being in Hong Kong, we can do exactly that," Mr Al-Hamad said.

Asiya Investments' Hong Kong regional headquarters is responsible for managing five of the firm's current product offerings and for identifying investments across Asia. The Hong Kong team is composed of 20 people and is managed by two executive directors.

The Director-General of Investment Promotion, Mr Simon Galpin, welcomed the opening of Asiya Investments in Hong Kong and said, "I congratulate Asiya Investments on its establishment in Hong Kong. The opening of its regional headquarters is testament to Hong Kong's attraction as a global financial centre. I believe that Asiya will benefit from the advantages of Hong Kong, and I look forward to its expansion throughout Asia from our city."
