Special traffic arrangements during Mid-Autumn Festival

     The Police will implement special traffic arrangements from September 18 to 22 to facilitate the celebration of the Mid-Autumn Festival.

Tai Hang
--------

     The following special traffic arrangements will be implemented from September 18 to 20 to facilitate the holding of fire dragon dance.

I. Road closure

     The following roads will be closed from 6pm to 11.59pm daily:

- Lin Fa Kung Street West;
- Lily Street;
- Wun Sha Street;
- Ormsby Street;
- Brown Street;
- Warren Street;
- Jones Street;
- Lai Yin Street;
- School Street;
- King Street;
- Shepherd Street; and
- Sun Chun Street.

II. Traffic diversion

- Vehicles along westbound Tung Lo Wan Road cannot turn left to Wun Sha Street, Brown Street and Jones Street; and
- Vehicles along eastbound on Tung Lo Wan Road cannot turn right to Wun Sha Street, and must U turn at Lin Fa Kung Street West.

III. Suspension of parking spaces
---------------------------------

     All parking spaces on the following streets will be suspended daily from 4pm to 11.59pm:

- Lin Fa Kung Street West;
- Lily Street;
- Wun Sha Street;
- Ormsby Street;
- Brown Street;
- Warren Street;
- Jones Street;
- Lai Yin Street;
- School Street;
- King Street;
- Shepherd Street;
- Sun Chun Street; and
- Tung Lo Wan Road.

IV. Suspension of taxi stand
----------------------------

     The taxi stand outside 90-96 Tung Lo Wan Road will be suspended daily from 5pm to 11.59pm.

Causeway Bay
------------

I. Pedestrianisation

     From 4pm on September 19 to 3am the following day, and from noon to 11.59pm on September 20, pedestrianisation will be implemented on the following roads:

- Lockhart Road east of Cannon Street;
- East Point Road; and
- Great George Street west of Paterson Street.

II. Road closure

     From 7pm to 11.59pm on September 18, from 7pm on September 19 to 3am the following day, and from 7pm to 11.59pm on September 20, the following roads may be closed if necessary:

- Sugar Street;
- A section of Paterson Street between Kingston Street and Great George Street;
- A section of southbound Gloucester Road between the ramp leading from Causeway Bay flyover and Causeway Road;
- A section of northbound Gloucester Road between the U turn loop underneath Tai Hang Road flyover and Kingston Street (except vehicles from northbound Tai Hang Road flyover heading for Gloucester Road);
- Westbound Kingston Street;
- Great George Street east of Paterson Street; and
- Hing Fat Street will be closed intermittently to vehicular traffic (except franchised buses and green minibuses).

III. Traffic diversion

     The following traffic diversion will be implemented in connection with the above road closure:

- Vehicles along Causeway Bay flyover will be diverted to turn right to westbound Gloucester Road;
- Traffic along southbound Paterson Street will be diverted to turn left to eastbound Kingston Street;
- Traffic along Cleveland Street cannot turn right to westbound Kingston Street; and
- Traffic along northbound Gloucester Road and northbound Tai Hang Road flyover cannot turn left to westbound Kingston Street.

     The following roads may be closed if necessary:

- Cleveland Street;
- Eastbound Kingston Street; and
- A section of Paterson Street between Kingston Street and inner Gloucester Road.

IV. Suspension of car parks and parking spaces

- Hing Fat Street public car park, except disabled parking spaces, will be suspended from 5pm on September 19 to 3am the following day; and
- Access to public car parks at Great George Street will be prohibited from 7pm to 11.59pm on September 18, from 7pm on September 19 to 3am the following day, and from 7pm to 11.59pm on September 20.

V. Suspension of taxi stands

     Taxi stands at the following locations may be suspended from 7pm to 11.59pm on September 18, from 7pm on September 19 to 3am the following day, and from 7pm to 11.59pm on September 20:

- Paterson Street near Kingston Street; and
- Electric Road near Park Tower.

VI. Suspension of public light bus (PLB) and green minibus (GMB) stands

     PLB stands at Sugar Street and GMB stands at Paterson Street will be suspended from 7pm on September 19 to 3am the following day, and from 7pm to 11.59pm on September 20. They may also be suspended from 7pm to 11.59pm on September 18 if necessary.

VII. Learner driver prohibition

     The following roads will be prohibited to all learner drivers from 7pm to 11.59pm on September 18, from 7pm on September 19 to 3am he following day, and from 7pm to 11.59pm on September 20:

- Eastbound Leighton Road;
- Tin Lok Lane;
- Tung Lo Wan Road;
- Hing Fat Street;
- A section of Electric Road between Wing Hing Street and Yacht Street;
- Northbound Morrison Hill Road;
- Hennessy Road east of Marsh Road;
- A section of Tin Hau Temple Road between Fortress Hill Road and Causeway Road; and
- Causeway Road.

The Peak
--------

     The following road closure, traffic diversion and suspension of parking spaces will be implemented from 4.30pm to 11pm on September 18, from 4.30pm on September 19 to 2.30am the following day, and from 4.30pm to 11pm on September 20:

- Northbound Peak Road outside Peak Galleria will be closed to all vehicular traffic (except for local residents or with permits). All traffic will be diverted to southbound carriageway of Peak Road via the slip road beside the car park entrance at the Peak Galleria;
- Lugard Road, Harlech Road and Mount Austin Road will be closed to all vehicular traffic (except for local residents or with permits); and
- Metered and motorcycle parking spaces at Victoria Peak Garden and Mount Austin Road will be suspended.

Central
-------

     The following road closures and traffic arrangements will be implemented from 4.30pm to 11pm on September 18, from 4.30pm on September 19 to 2.30am the following day, and from 4.30pm to 11pm on September 20:

- The slip road outside Lower Peak Tram Station from Garden Road leading to the office of World Wide Fund for Nature Hong Kong will be closed, except for taxis and franchised buses; and
- The taxi stand at the slip road will be relocated to the lay-by on Garden Road outside Lower Peak Tram Station. A temporary taxi drop off point will be designated at the slip road opposite to the Lower Peak Tram Station.

     All parking spaces at the above slip road will be suspended from 3pm to 11.30pm on September 18, from 3pm on September 19 to 2.30am the following day, and from 3pm to 11.30pm on September 20.

Beach areas
-----------

A. Repulse Bay

     Depending on crowd and traffic situation, the following road closure and traffic diversion may be implemented from September 18 to 20:

I. Road closure

- PLBs cannot enter Beach Road from Repulse Bay Road; and
- South Bay Road south of South Bay Close will be closed if the car parks are full (except for residents and public transports).

II. Traffic diversion

- Vehicles on eastbound Repulse Bay Road cannot make a U turn at its junction with South Bay Road;
- Vehicles on Repulse Bay Road cannot enter The Repulse Bay car park if it is full; and
- When the car parks on South Bay Road are full, vehicles at Beach Road (except for local residents on South Bay Road), will be diverted to the northbound South Bay Road and leave the area.

     The following facilities will be suspended from 4pm to 6am the following day from September 18 to 20:

- The taxi stand on Repulse Bay Road opposite to The Repulse Bay;
- All metered and motorcycle parking spaces on Island Road (except disabled parking spaces); and
- All metered and motorcycle parking spaces on Beach Road.

B. Shek O

     Fifteen parking spaces in Shek O Beach Public Carpark will be suspended from 2pm on September 18 to 9am on September 22.

     Depending on crowd and traffic situation, the following road closure may be implemented from September 18 to 20:

- The road leading to Shek O Headland will be closed (except for local residents); and
- No vehicles would be allowed to enter car parks at Big Wave Bay and Shek O once they are full (except for local residents and public transports).

C. Stanley

     Depending on crowd and traffic situation, Stanley Beach Road and Wong Ma Kok Path will be closed from September 18 to 20 if necessary (except for local residents and public transports).

Aberdeen and Pok Fu Lam
-----------------------

     Depending on crowd and traffic situation, the following roads will be intermittently closed on September 19:

- Waterfall Bay Road;
- Tung Sing Road;
- Aberdeen Main Road;
- Aberdeen Old Main Street;
- Sai On Street;
- Chengtu Road;
- Wu Nam Street; and
- Nam Ning Street.

     Tsung Man Street will be closed on September 19 from 6pm to 8.30pm.

     The unnamed access road leading from Wah Lam Path to Centennial College will be closed on September 19 from 8.30pm to 10.30pm.

Tuen Mun
--------

     The following road closure and traffic arrangement will be implemented from September 18 to 20 from 5pm to 5am the following day daily:

- Golden Beach Path will be intermittently closed;
- The unnamed access road leading to the public car park at Cafeteria Old Beach will be intermittently closed;
- A section of Tsing Yan Street between Castle Peak Road and the entrance of the public car park at Kadoorie Beach will be intermittently closed;
- The unnamed access road leading to the public car park at Butterfly Beach will be intermittently closed; and
- PLBs will be temporarily allowed to enter Tuen Mun Road between Tuen Hing Road and Siu Lam Interchange.

Tsuen Wan
---------

     A section of Tai Mo Shan Road east of its junction with Route Twisk will be closed from September 19 to 21 from 5pm to 3am the following day daily, except for local residents and emergency vehicles.

Ma On Shan
----------

     Depending on crowd and traffic situation, the following road closure may be implemented from September 19 to 22 from 4.30pm to 3am the following day daily:

- A section of Ma On Shan Tsuen Road south of its small turnaround (except for local residents and emergency vehicles);
- A section of Lok Wo Sha Lane north of its junction with Sai Sha Road (except for local residents, trucks returning to the car park adjacent to Lok Wo Sha Lane, and emergency vehicles); and
- A section of Yiu Sha Road north of its junction with Wu Kai Sha Road roundabout (except for local residents, vehicles returning to the car park at the end of Yiu Sha Road, and emergency vehicles).

Suspension and relocation of bus terminus
-----------------------------------------

- Tin Hau MTR Bus Terminus will be suspended from 7pm on September 19 to 3am the following day; and
- Shek O Road Bus Terminus will be suspended from 2pm on September 18 to 9am on September 22.

     Any vehicles found illegally parked within the precinct of the special traffic arrangements specified above will be towed away without prior notice.

     Actual implementation of the traffic arrangements will be made depending on traffic and crowd conditions in the area. Motorists are advised to exercise tolerance and patience and take heed of instructions of the Police on site.
