Police are investigating a traffic accident in Sheung Shui this morning (September 14) in which a 74-year-old woman died.
About 7.35am, a public light bus (PLB) driven by a 68-year-old man travelled along Sha Tau Kok Road towards Fanling. When reaching near Ko Po Tsuen, it reportedly knocked down the 74-year-old woman who was crossing the road with a trolley.
Sustaining serious injuries to her head and legs, the pedestrian was rushed to North District Hospital where she was certified dead at 8.25am.
The PLB driver was arrested for dangerous driving causing death and is being detained for enquiries.
Investigations by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, New Territories North, are underway.
