Fatal traffic accident in Castle Peak

     Police are investigating a fatal traffic accident in Castle Peak this (September 13) afternoon in which a 49-year-old man died.

     About 4.40pm, a heavy goods vehicle (HGV) driven by the 49-year-old man was travelling along Lung Fu Road towards Lung Kwu Tan, while a medium goods vehicle(MGV) driven by a 55-year-old man was traveling along Lung Fu Road towards Tuen Mun Town Plaza. When reaching near Kin Lung House, the HGV reportedly lost control and rammed into the central divider. Some building materials dropped from the HGV and hit the MGV.

     Sustaining serious injuries to his head, the HGV driver  was rushed to Tuen Mun Hospital in unconscious state where he was certified dead at 10.05pm. The MGV driver sustained slight injury and was taken to Tuen Mun Hospital for medical treatment.

     Investigations by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, New Territories South are underway.
