The following is issued on behalf of the Working Group on Industrial, Commercial and Professional Sectors under the Basic Law Promotion Steering Committee:
The 2013 Basic Law Souvenir Design Competition is now open for entries. Members in the industrial, commercial and professional (ICP) sectors are welcome to join on an individual or team basis. Members in other sectors may also participate in the competition in collaboration with a member of the ICP sectors. The closing date is November 8.
Participants should embrace the elements of the Basic Law in their creative designs. The entry deliverables should comprise souvenir design drawings and a written explanation on the ideas and design concepts, as well as a CD-ROM containing soft copies of the drawings and the written explanation. Participants may optionally submit additional concept sketches, renderings and/or mock-ups for the souvenir for illustration of their designs.
The winner, the first runner-up and the second runner-up in the competition will be awarded cash coupons of $20,000, $5,000 and $3,000 respectively. Two merit prizes will also be awarded. Designs of the winning entries may be adopted for souvenir production and free distribution for promotion of the Basic Law.
This 2013 Basic Law Souvenir Design Competition, organised by the Working Group on Industrial, Commercial and Professional Sectors under the Basic Law Promotion Steering Committee, aims to enhance interest in and understanding of the Basic Law among the sectors, and to promote creative designs. The Hong Kong Design Centre and the Hong Kong Designers Association are the Co-organiser and the Supporting Organisation of the competition respectively.
