Regarding the statement issued by the Hong Kong Journalists Association on the Chief Executive's dinner with community members, the Chief Executive's Office today (September 11) has the following response:
The Chief Executive has been maintaining contact with members of the community through various means since he took office, including hosting meals for people from different sectors to exchange views on different issues.
In order to encourage candid exchange of views, we expect attendees to adhere to the principle of not quoting one another when making comments on the discussions at the meeting. Also, the event will not be open to the press. The above practices were adopted in similar gatherings hosted by the Chief Executive in the past.
