Police appeal for information on fatal traffic accident in Sai Kung

     Police today (September 10) appealed to the public for information on a fatal traffic accident in Sai Kung on September 5 in which a 78-year-old man died.

     About 4.50pm on that day, a 57-year-old man was driving a medium goods vehicle along Po Tung Road towards Tai Mong Tsai. When approaching Man Nin Street, it reportedly knocked down the 78-year-old man who was crossing the road.

     Sustaining head injuries, the man was rushed to Queen Elizabeth Hospital in conscious condition. He was certified dead at 2.40am on September 6.

     Investigations by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, Kowloon East are underway.

     Anyone who might have witnessed the accident or has any information to offer is urged to contact investigating officers on 2305 7500 or 2305 7582.
