Police are investigating a fatal traffic accident in Tsing Yi this morning (September 9) in which an 83-year-old man was killed.
At about 6am, a taxi driven by a 65-year-old man was travelling along Tsing King Road towards Tsing Yi Pier. When approaching near Tsing Yi Sports Ground, it reportedly knocked down the 83-year-old man who was crossing the road.
Sustaining serious injuries to his head, hands and legs, the man was rushed to Princess Margaret Hospital in unconscious state where he was certified dead at 1.47pm.
Investigations by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, New Territories South, are underway.
