British watchmaker Bremont announced today (September 9) the soft launch of its first overseas boutique in Hong Kong.

Bremont is the latest global watch brand to increase its presence in Hong Kong, opening a stand-alone boutique in order to maximise its visibility in the city and within Asia.

Co-founder Mr Nick English believes that Bremont's 2,000-square-foot-plus retail outlet in Lyndhurst Terrace, Central, will quickly boost its brand awareness among local customers as well as visitors to the city. "As with our London boutique, Hong Kong will be more than just a traditional watch store. It will be a place for watch collectors to come and meet to talk about watches over a coffee or a whisky," said Mr English.

Co-founder Mr Giles English said, "It is a big step for us to launch our own boutique in Hong Kong. When you have your own store you can really communicate your own brand message and DNA to your consumer. It also has a very positive effect on your wholesale markets as the brand becomes more visible."

The Associate Director-General of Investment Promotion, Mr Andrew Davis, welcomed Bremont's boutique in Hong Kong and said, "Hong Kong is a great location to open a flagship store, to showcase the brand to millions of international visitors to the city. Hong Kong is one of the world's most important markets for luxury watches. We believe this is the right time for Bremont to be present in Hong Kong to benefit from its strong retail performance."
