United Nations Sanctions (Libya) Regulation 2011 (Amendment) Regulation 2013 gazetted

     The Government today (August 30) gazetted the United Nations Sanctions (Libya) Regulation 2011 (Amendment) Regulation 2013 (the Amendment Regulation), which came into operation on the same date.  

     "The Amendment Regulation amends existing sanctions against Libya to implement decisions of the United Nations Security Council under Resolution 2095," a Government spokesman said.

     The Amendment Regulation mainly modifies the requirements for the granting of licences for:

* the supply, sale, transfer or carriage of arms or related materiel to Libya; and

* the provision of assistance or training related to military activities, etc, in certain circumstances.
