Police are investigating a fatal traffic accident in Sau Mau Ping this morning (August 18) in which a woman was killed.
At about 6.10am, Police received a report that a woman lying unconscious on the carriageway of the Sau Mau Ping bound Shun Ching Street outside Shun Lee Shopping Centre.
Sustaining serious head injuries, the woman was rushed to United Christian Hospital in unconscious state and was certified dead at 6.42am.
Initial investigations revealed that the deceased had been suspectedly knocked down by vehicle.
No identity document was found in the deceasedˇ¦s possession. She was a Chinese woman aged between 60 and 70. She stood about 1.45 meters and was of medium build with short white hair. She was wearing a grey vest and a pair of yellow long shorts.
Investigations by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, Kowloon East, are under way.
Police urged anyone who knows the identity of the deceased or witnessed the accident to contact the investigating officers at 3661 1636 or 2305 7500.
