Referring to the "Pulse of Hong Kong" column in Hong Kong Economic Journal on August 15, 2013 which concerns the landfill sites funding application by the Government in the Legislative Council, the Central Policy Unit (CPU) issued the following statement:

     The "Pulse of Hong Kong" column in Hong Kong Economic Journal uses "hearsay" and "gossip" as means to depict the CPU's involvement in the Government's landfill sites funding application. The story is total fabrication and is obviously at odds with the Government's established operation and decision-making procedure.

     A CPU spokesman expressed deep regret over the above-mentioned story which is inconsistent with the underlying facts, and hoped the column could respect the facts and offer commentary in a professional, truthful and responsible manner.
