Fatal traffic accident in Kowloon City

     Police are investigating a fatal traffic accident in Kowloon City this morning (August 12) in which a 51-year-old man was killed.

     At about 7.24am, a coach driven by a 68-year-old man was travelling along the south bound of Junction Road, while a public light bus driven by a 51-year-old man was travelling along the east bound of Nga Tsin Wai Road. When approaching the junction with Nga Tsin Wai Road, the coach reportedly collided with the public light bus.

     Sustaining injuries to his head, the public light bus driver was rushed to Queen Elizabeth Hospital in unconscious state where he was certified dead at 8.53am. A 64-year-old male passenger of the public light bus sustained head injuries and was also rushed to Queen Elizabeth Hospital in conscious condition.

      The case will be handed over to the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, Kowloon West.
