The Government today (August 9) announced the appointment of two new members and the re-appointment of one member to the Hong Kong Examinations and Assessment Authority (HKEAA). The appointments are for three years from September 1, 2013, to August 31, 2016. The appointment details are as follows:
Newly appointed members
Mr James Lam Yat-fung, Principal, Lions College
Mr Stephen Hung Wan-shun, Partner, Pang, Wan & Choi
Re-appointed member
Dr Esther Ho Yuk-fan, Vice-Principal, Carmel Secondary School
The Secretary for Education, Mr Eddie Ng Hak-kim, welcomed Mr Lam and Mr Hung in serving as members of the HKEAA, and expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the two outgoing members, Mr Liu Ah-chuen and Mr Lester Garson Huang, for their valuable contributions to the work of the Authority.
He said that the HKEAA is an important partner of the Education Bureau and the distinguished members from the education sector and other professions would enrich the expertise of the Authority.
The HKEAA is a statutory body established under the Hong Kong Examinations and Assessment Authority Ordinance (Chapter 261) to conduct public examinations and other examinations or assessments approved by the Chief Executive. The composition of the Authority is stipulated in Schedule 2 of the Ordinance. Members of the Authority include school principals, teachers, representatives of tertiary institutions, a person who represents the interests of parents, and persons experienced in commerce, industry or a profession.
