FEHD orders restaurant in Tsuen Wan to suspend business for three weeks
************************************************************

The Director of Food and Environmental Hygiene has ordered a restaurant in Tsuen Wan to suspend business for 21 days.

The operator repeatedly breached the Food Business Regulation by illegally extending the business area.

The restaurant, located on the ground floor (rear portion) at No. 27 Yi Pei Square, was ordered to suspend business from today (August 3) to August 23.

"Between March and May this year, four convictions for the breach were recorded against the food establishment," a spokesman for the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department said.

"A total fine of $5,000 was levied by the court and 90 demerit points were registered against the licensee under the department's demerit points system. The contraventions resulted in seven-day and 14-day business suspensions running consecutively," he added.

The spokesman reminded licensees of food premises to comply with the Food Business Regulation or their licences could be suspended or cancelled.

Licensed food premises are required to exhibit a sign indicating that the premises have been licensed at a conspicuous place near the main entrance. A list of licensed food premises is also available on FEHD's website (www.fehd.gov.hk/english/licensing/licence-type.html).
