Six Legislative Council (LegCo) Members conducted a site visit to Yau Ma Tei today (July 30) to follow up on a complaint case relating to air and noise pollution caused by the Gascoigne Road Flyover at the moment and the Central Kowloon Route (CKR) in the future.
Members visited two households at Prosperous Garden and observed as officers of the Environmental Protection Department measured the noise level caused by road traffic on the spot. Members then went up to the rooftop of the Yau Ma Tei Police Station and received a briefing on the CKR project by the Highways Department.
Members participating in the site visit included LegCo Redress System Duty Roster Members Dr Chiang Lai-wan (convener), Mr Yiu Si-wing and Dr Kenneth Chan. Other Members took part in the site visit were Dr Joseph Lee, Mr Leung Kwok-hung and Dr Helena Wong.
