Transcript of remarks by SCED at media session
**********************************************

Following is a transcript of remarks by the Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development, Mr Gregory So, to the media when attending the 13th Consumer Rights Reporting Awards presentation ceremony today (July 30):

Reporter: How was the football event yesterday? You mentioned that the Manchester United representatives actually talked to you and that they expressed willingness of coming back. Did they comment on the quality of the football pitch?

Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development: I want to just repeat what I said in Chinese earlier. I think last night's match went on quite smoothly. It is true that the condition of the pitch could improve, and on this, my other colleagues have already indicated that we have a short, medium and long-term solution. In the long run, we will learn from this experience. In future events, the situation will improve. And I did speak to the management of Manchester United. They are very gracious, and they are actually very positive about the experience and look forward to returning to Hong Kong for future matches. Thank you.

(Please also refer to the Chinese portion of the transcript.)
