The Government announced today (July 26) the appointment of Professor Gabriel Matthew Leung to the Hospital Authority for two years with effect from August 1, 2013.
Following is a brief biography of Professor Leung:
Professor Gabriel Matthew Leung is Dean-Designate of the Li Ka Shing Faculty of Medicine, the University of Hong Kong. He will take office on August 1, 2013.
The Secretary for Food and Health, Dr Ko Wing-man, welcomed Professor Leung to the Hospital Authority. He also thanked Professor Lee Sum-ping, who will retire from the Hospital Authority with effect from August 1, 2013, for his advice and contribution to the Hospital Authority over the years.
The Hospital Authority, as from August 1, 2013, will comprise a chairman, 23 non-official members, three public officers and one principal officer from the Hospital Authority. The new membership list is as follows:
