The Office of the Commissioner of Insurance (OCI) today (July 26) alerted the public to a company with the name "Fubon (HK) Insurance Investment Fund Company Limited" or "Fubang (HK) Insurance Investment Fund Limited", which is not authorised by the Insurance Authority under the Insurance Companies Ordinance to carry on any insurance business in or from Hong Kong.
The company has a registered office in Unit 04, 7/F, Bright Way Tower, 33 Mong Kok Road, Kowloon, Hong Kong, and operates a website with the domain name www.fbbx.net, claiming that the company offers products liability insurance, financial guarantees and funds investment services.
It is suspected that the company issued fraudulent insurance policies to persons outside Hong Kong. The OCI has reported the case to the Police for further investigation. Anyone who has provided personal information to or has conducted any insurance transactions with "Fubon (HK) Insurance Investment Fund Company Limited" or "Fubang (HK) Insurance Investment Fund Limited" should contact Mong Kok Police Station at 3661 1642, or the OCI at 2867 2565.
