The overall Comprehensive Social Security Assistance (CSSA) caseload in June showed a drop of 515 cases, representing a decrease of 0.2 per cent compared to May, according to the latest CSSA caseload statistics released by the Social Welfare Department today (July 24).
The total CSSA caseload at the end of June stood at 265 995 (see attached table), with a total of 411 341 recipients.
Analysed by case nature, low earnings cases and unemployment cases registered month-to-month decreases of 1.4 per cent and 0.7 per cent to 9 585 cases and 22 757 cases respectively. Old age cases dropped by 0.2 per cent to 152 491 cases, while ill-health cases decreased by 0.1 per cent to 25 222 cases.
Single parent cases and permanent disability cases registered slight increases of 0.1 per cent and 0.3 per cent to 30 425 cases and 18 445 cases respectively.
