Fatal traffic accident in Tsing Yi

     Police are investigating a fatal traffic accident in Tsing Yi this afternoon (July 22) in which a 47-year-old man was killed.

     At about 12.48pm, a light goods vehicle driven by a 43-year-old man was travelling inside Container Terminal 4, Tsing Yi. When reaching a parking space of a logistics centre, the light goods vehicle reportedly knocked down the 47-year-old man who was sitting on a kerb of the parking space.

     The 47-year-old man sustained serious chest injury and was rushed to Princess Margaret Hospital in unconscious state where he was certified dead at 1.24pm.

     The light goods vehicle driver was arrested for dangerous driving causing death and is being detained for enquiries.

     Investigations by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, New Territories South, are under way.
