Police are investigating the death of a police officer in Happy Valley Police Station today (July 20).
At about 3pm, Police located an on-duty Senior Police Constable, aged 40, attached to the Patrol Subunit of Happy Valley Police Division who locked himself inside the male changing room at Happy Valley Police Station. Police broke into the room and found him unconscious. He had a gun shot wound on his right temple, and was later certified dead at scene.
Upon initial investigation, it is believed that he committed suicide with his service revolver.
A post-mortem examination will be conducted later on the deceased to ascertain his cause of death.
Investigations by District Crime Squad of Wan Chai District are underway.
