The Civil Engineering and Development Department (CEDD) today (July 19) invited tenders for the contract for construction of the cycle track from Tuen Mun to Sheung Shui - Stage 1.
The works mainly comprise:
* construction of an approximately one-kilometre-long new cycle track along the Kam Tin River in Yuen Long;
* construction of an approximately 1.5km-long new cycle track along the Sheung Yue River and the Shek Sheung River in Sheung Shui;
* improvement works to selected sections of existing cycle tracks in Tuen Mun, Tin Shui Wai and Yuen Long totalling approximately 4.5km in length;
* provision of two entry/exit hubs and five resting stations along the cycle tracks in Tuen Mun, Yuen Long, Tin Shui Wai and Sheung Shui; and
* associated landscaping and ancillary works.
The works are scheduled to commence in October this year for completion in April 2016.
The CEDD has commissioned URS Hong Kong Limited to design and supervise the works. Interested contractors may obtain the tender forms from URS Hong Kong Limited at 38/F, Metroplaza Tower 1, 223 Hing Fong Road, Kwai Fong.
The invitation to tender was gazetted today. The closing time for the tender is noon on August 30. Tender submissions should be placed in the Government Secretariat Tender Box at G/F, East Wing, Central Government Offices, 2 Tim Mei Avenue, Tamar.
