Inmate assaults officer at Tai Lam Correctional Institution

A male inmate at Tai Lam Correctional Institution assaulted an officer of the Correctional Services Department this morning (July 18).
At around 7.50am, the 25-year-old male inmate was found to be emotionally unstable inside his cell. An on-duty officer immediately tried to stop him. The inmate, however, assaulted the officer by suddenly spitting in his face.
The case has been reported to the Police.
The inmate was jailed for the offence of theft.
