"Hong Kong 2012" on sale at Book Fair (with photos)
***************************************************

The Government's latest Yearbook, "Hong Kong 2012", goes on sale at the Hong Kong Book Fair tomorrow (July 17).

The book provides an in-depth account of government policy and activities and an overview of Hong Kong life and developments in 2012.

Containing a wealth of facts and figures about Hong Kong, including over 40 tables of statistics and an endpaper map showing population density, the Yearbook offers an invaluable source of information on Hong Kong.

The Yearbook's 21 chapters cover subjects ranging from Hong Kong's constitution and legal system, the economy, commerce and industry, employment, education, health and social welfare to the environment, recreation, sports and the arts.

The front cover shows a graphical depiction of fireworks over Hong Kong's skyline in 2012 marking the 15th anniversary of the establishment of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region.

"Hong Kong 2012" features more than 80 photographs in 12 photo sections on events, people and places in Hong Kong, including sections on sports, urban greenery, religious architecture, art in the city and working dogs in government.

English and Chinese editions of the Yearbook (and more than 100 other government publications) will be on sale at the Information Services Department (ISD) booth (booth number: 1B-C38) at the Hong Kong Book Fair from tomorrow.

A 25 per cent discount on the Yearbook's cover price of $218 will be offered to buyers at the fair.

To help save the environment, plastic bags will not be handed out at the booth and purchasers are asked to bring along their own carry bag.

"Hong Kong 2012" and other government publications can also be bought at the ISD's Publications Sales Unit, Room 626, 6/F, North Point Government Offices, 333 Java Road, North Point.
