The Planning Department and the Civil Engineering and Development Department today (July 15) launched the Stage 2 Community Engagement of the Hung Shui Kiu (HSK) New Development Area (NDA) Planning and Engineering Study to gauge the public's views on the Preliminary Outline Development Plan (PODP). Members of the public are welcome to participate in the related activities.
Public views have been collected in the Stage 1 Community Engagement on the major topics relating to the strategic roles of the HSK NDA, building people-oriented communities and promoting a green living and working environment. Taking into account public views and relevant planning and engineering considerations, the PODP for the NDA has now been formulated.
The PODP accords high priorities to capitalising on nearby infrastructure and natural features for sustainable development. The NDA will be developed into a multi-function development node with a variety of housing as well as business and employment opportunities.
The Stage 2 Community Engagement will last for three months until October 15. Major activities include a public forum, briefings and a roving exhibition. Information digests about the project will be distributed to all local residents and other stakeholders to inform them of the Stage 2 Community Engagement and to invite them to offer their views.
