Following is the transcript of remarks by the Secretary for the Environment, Mr Wong Kam-sing, after attending the Legislative Council Finance Committee meeting on the proposed Northeast New Territories and West New Territories landfills extension today (July 12):
Reporter: Are you disappointed? And will you revise the proposal for coming back to LegCo again?
Secretary for the Environment: In response to your question, I think the Legislative Council's discussion to stop the (landfill extension) proposal is not meeting the need of Hong Kong because Hong Kong needs the landfill extensions timely. So, we have to review the situation and to re-submit the proposal as soon as possible.
