Award presentation for Digital Short Video Competition

     The award presentation ceremony for the Digital Short Video Competition 2013 of the "Youth Inno-Action! HKBU Academy of Film Seeds Project", co-organised by the Government Youth Portal (Youth.gov.hk) and the Academy of Film of the School of Communication of Hong Kong Baptist University (HKBU), was held today (July 9).

     Running for the second year, the Digital Short Video Competition aims to nurture young students' creativity and potential through creative filmmaking. It attracted a total of 100 entries, including 72 dramas and 28 documentaries, from 52 secondary schools.      The winners are:

Best Director:
"The 4th Roll - 10 min. version" (Douglas Lu, SALEM-Immannel Lutheran College)

Best Creativity:
"Delight" (Cheung Sha Wan Catholic Secondary School)

Best Script:
"The story of 'Fat Ming' online" (Chan Tsz-shun, Poon Ming-chun and Leung Kai-ming, Christian Alliance SW Chan Memorial College)

Best Cinematography:
"Monster" (Mo Ka-chun and Yau Ka-chun, Ju Ching Chu Secondary School (Yuen Long))

Best Actor:
"New Perspective" (To Kwok-ho, CNEC Christian College)
"Play with me" (So Wai-lun, Yan Chai Hospital Tung Chi Ying Memorial Secondary School)

Best Drama:
"The 4th Roll - 10 min. version" (SALEM-Immannel Lutheran College)

Jury's Award (Drama):
"Time Lag" (Pui Kiu Middle School)

Most Popular Online Drama:
"The story of 'Fat Ming' online" (Christian Alliance SW Chan Memorial College)

Best Documentary:
"On the same boat" (Sha Tin Methodist College)

Outstanding Documentary:
"I Believe, therefore 3 - DREAMARY" (SALEM-Immannel Lutheran College)
"Netizen" (HKBU Affiliated School Wong Kam Fai Secondary and Primary School)

Jury's Award (Documentary):

Most Popular Online Documentary:
"On the same boat" (Sha Tin Methodist College)

     The "Youth Inno-Action! HKBU Academy of Film Seeds Project" is a creative training project for secondary school students. It is initiated and developed by the Government Youth Portal and the Academy of Film of the School of Communication of HKBU and is sponsored by Create Hong Kong. A creative seminar on "Youth Creativity in the New Media Generation" was also held after the award ceremony to share with the students creativity and experiences in creative work.
