Special stamp issue - "Chinese and Western Wedding Customs" (with photos)

     Hongkong Post today (July 8) announced that a set of special stamps with the theme of "Chinese and Western Wedding Customs" will be released for sale with associated philatelic products on July 23 (Tuesday).

     As a significant life stage event, marriage is celebrated with different customs across cultures. In Hong Kong, where East meets West, weddings are characteristically marked by a fusion of traditional Chinese etiquette and Western customs. Hongkong Post will issue the set of special stamps on the theme of "Chinese and Western Wedding Customs" to introduce the unique wedding culture in Hong Kong.

     Two Heartwarming Stamps (2013 Version) "Chinese and Western Wedding Customs" Mini-panes, which feature a Chinese wedding (local mail postage) and a Western wedding (air mail postage), will also be released for sale at the General Post Office, Tsim Sha Tsui Post Office, Tsuen Wan Post Office, Sha Tin Central Post Office and Tuen Mun Central Post Office from July 23. The Heartwarming Stamps mini-panes are infused with the fragrance of jasmine as a special touch.

     Official First Day Covers will be on sale at $1.20 each at all post offices from tomorrow (July 9). The stamps and associated philatelic products will be displayed at the General Post Office, Tsim Sha Tsui Post Office, Tsuen Wan Post Office, Sha Tin Central Post Office and Tuen Mun Central Post Office from the same day. Advance orders for servicing self-provided covers will be accepted at all philatelic offices from tomorrow to July 15.
