Police are investigating a fatal traffic accident in Central this morning (July 5) in which a 68-year-old woman was killed.
At about 8.24am, a coach driven by a 39-year-old man was travelling along eastbound Des Voeux Road Central. On reaching near 19 Des Voeux Road Central, the coach reportedly knocked down the 68-year-old woman who was crossing the road.
The woman sustained serious head injury and was rushed to Queen Mary Hospital in unconscious state where she was certified dead at 9.08am.
The coach driver was arrested for dangerous driving causing death and is being detained for enquiries.
Investigations by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, Hong Kong Island, are under way.
