The Government announced today (July 5) the appointment of Mr Felix Fong Wo as a member to the Communications Authority (CA). The appointment is effective from today to March 31, 2015.
Mr Fong is a solicitor by profession. He served on the former Broadcasting Authority from 1998 to 2005 and chaired the Broadcasting Authority Codes of Practice Committee from 2000 to 2005. He is currently the Chairman of the Advisory Council on Food and Environmental Hygiene.
The CA is an independent statutory body established under the Communications Authority Ordinance (Cap. 616) on April 1, 2012. It is a unified regulatory body overseeing the telecommunications and broadcasting sectors.
With the appointment of Mr Fong, the CA now comprises 10 non-official members and two official members. Following is the membership list of the CA:
