The Financial Secretary, Mr John C Tsang, today (June 29) visited the Myanmar International Terminals Thilawa before concluding his visit to Myanmar.
Mr Tsang and Hong Kong business delegation's visit to the Myanmar International Terminals Thilawa in the morning was arranged by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council. He was given a presentation on the development and operation of the terminals. He also toured the terminals to see for himself the services provided there.
Having concluded his visit, Mr Tsang departed for Hong Kong.
The visit by the Financial Secretary covered Cambodia and Myanmar, member states of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations. The visit to Cambodia was held from June 24 to 26 while the Myanmar leg ran from June 27 to 29. The visit was part of the Government's ongoing efforts to promote trade flows and economic development between Hong Kong and these two countries with a view to further tapping into the emerging Southeast Asian market.
