Officers stop smuggling of suspected dangerous drugs into reception centre

Correctional officers seized a small quantity of suspected dangerous drugs from personal belongings of a newly convicted female inmate in Tai Lam Centre for Women at around 3.50pm today (June 10).
Upon admission search after conviction in court, the officers found two syringes, one of which contained small quantity of suspected dangerous drugs, from her personal belongings.
The case was reported to the Police for investigation.
The 51-year-old inmate was sentenced to drug addiction treatment centre for an offence of theft.
