Lectures by Dennis Wu to explore lives of eight great German composers

     The Leisure and Cultural Services Department has invited Dennis Wu, a music writer, composer and radio producer, to host "Journeys through Music" Lecture Series - Into Germany. In the lectures, Wu will explore with participants the lives of eight great German composers.

     Dennis Wu has produced and hosted numerous radio programmes on RTHK Radio 4, and is a frequent speaker in pre-concert talks, meet-the-artist panels and music criticism seminars. His writing has been widely published in newspapers and magazines. He has recently curated a concert of songs on Yu Kwang-chung's poems and performed in the series of concerts as a narrator.

     In this series of "Journeys through Music", Wu will take participants on a musical voyage to the land of great musicians. Participants will listen to music by eight great German composers and discuss how eventful their lives were and how great their music is. In an hour and a half, attendees shall experience the passion, the logic and the richness of German music.

     All lectures will be held at 7.30pm at the Lecture Hall of the Hong Kong Space Museum. Tickets priced at $50 (free seating) are now available at all URBTIX outlets, on the Internet and by telephone credit card booking. Half-price tickets are available for senior citizens aged 60 or above, people with disabilities and their minders, full-time students and Comprehensive Social Security Assistance (CSSA) recipients (limited tickets for full-time students and CSSA recipients available on a first-come, first-served basis).
