The Financial Secretary, Mr John C Tsang, concluded his three-day visit to Taipei today (June 7) after attending a Hong Kong-Taipei inter-city forum, visiting the Delta Group's Taoyuan Plant 3 and R&D Center and meeting the "Minister of Finance", Mr Chang Sheng-ford. Mr Tsang attended the latter meeting in his capacity as the Honorary Chairperson of the Hong Kong-Taiwan Economic and Cultural Co-operation and Promotion Council.
Mr Tsang officiated and spoke at the Hong Kong-Taipei inter-city forum this morning. At the forum, senior officials and academics from Hong Kong and Taiwan shared their work experiences in environmental protection and heritage conservation.
This was followed by a visit to the Delta Group's Taoyuan Plant 3 and R&D Center. The senior management of the Delta Group introduced to Mr Tsang the group's energy-saving and industrial automation products and control systems, in particular the latest developments of electric vehicles and electric vehicle charging technologies.
A meeting was held with Mr Chang in the afternoon. Both sides discussed the current economic situation and challenges facing the two places.
After concluding his visit, Mr Tsang left for Hong Kong.
