Proprietor fined for violation of safety rules

Gammon Construction Limited was fined $50,000 at Eastern Magistrates' Courts today (June 6) for violation of the Factories and Industrial Undertakings Ordinance. The prosecution was launched by the Labour Department.
The case involved a fatal accident that occurred at a construction site in Causeway Bay on December 3, 2011, in which a worker was trapped between the slewing machine body of a crawler crane and a metal railing.
