Following is the transcript of remarks made by the Secretary for Food and Health, Dr Ko Wing-man, after attending a public function this morning (June 6):
Reporter: Can I ask if there is any preferential treatment given to an Assistant Director of Health for her to study law while receiving full salary for a year?
Secretary for Food and Health: My understanding is that there are established practices, rules and procedures by the Civil Service Bureau. In that particular incident which I will not comment on, I think the Director of Health is exercising the appropriate dedicated authority by the Civil Service Bureau according to the established procedures and practices.
