The Hong Kong Cyberport Management Company Limited (HKCMCL) today (June 5) announced the appointment of a new non-Government director and re-appointment of three serving non-Government directors to its board of directors for a term of two years from June 5, 2013 to June 4, 2015.
The new director is Dr Edwin Lee Kan-hing. Dr Lee is the founder of a business start-up consulting company. His rich experience and knowledge in launching start-ups are valuable to the HKCMCL Board.
The three re-appointed serving directors are Mr George Hongchoy Kwok-lung, Mr Douglas So and Mr Peter Yan King-shun.
With the new appointment and re-appointments, there will be 11 non-Government directors and two Government directors on the board. The new board comprises a good mix of expertise from the business community and the information and communications technology (ICT) industry.
"With the vision, leadership and enthusiasm of the directors, we will continue to work towards fulfilling Cyberport's mission of fostering ICT talents and start-ups, driving the overall technology development in Hong Kong through clustering of companies and professionals in the ICT industry and related businesses," a spokesman for the HKCMCL said.
The HKCMCL also expressed gratitude to the outgoing director, Ms Wong Sau-ying, for her valuable support and contribution to Cyberport over the years.
