Police appeal for information on serious traffic accident in Tsing Yi

     Police today (May 30) appealed for information on a serious traffic accident in Tsing Yi on May 28 in which a 74-year-old woman sustained serious injuries.

     At about 12.30pm on that day, a taxi driven by a 54-year-old man was traveling along northbound Fung Shue Wo Road. When turning into Tam Kon Shan Interchange bound, it reportedly knocked down the 74-year-old woman who was crossing the road.

     Sustaining serious head, waist and legs injuries, the woman was rushed to Princess Margaret Hospital.

     The driver, arrested for dangerous driving causing grievous bodily harm earlier, has been released on bail and shall report back in late June.

     Investigations by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, New Territories South are underway.
