The Secretary for Food and Health, Dr Ko Wing-man, is in Geneva, Switzerland, today (May 20, Geneva time) attending the 66th World Health Assembly of the World Health Organization as a member of the China delegation.
Joining Dr Ko is the Director of Health, Dr Constance Chan, and the Controller of the Centre for Health Protection of the Department of Health, Dr Leung Ting-hung.
Prior to the Assembly, Dr Ko led the Hong Kong delegation to meet with the Minister of the National Health and Family Planning Commission, Ms Li Bin, and Macau's Secretary for Social Affairs and Culture, Mr Cheong U. They exchanged views on various health issues, including the latest situation of the avian influenza A(H7N9) virus on the Mainland and relevant prevention and control measures.
Dr Ko will leave for Hong Kong tonight (May 20, Geneva time).
