The Chief Executive, Mr C Y Leung, met the visiting Vice Minister of the National Health and Family Planning Commission, Mr Sun Zhigang, at the Chief Executive's Office this afternoon (May 15) to exchange views on medical and health issues.
Mr Leung welcomed the visit by Mr Sun to attend the Hospital Authority Convention 2013 this morning. He said he is pleased to know that the health departments in the Mainland and Hong Kong have maintained close liaison on the situation of human cases of avian influenza A(H7N9) and exchanged experience on relevant preventive and control measures.
Mr Leung said he hopes that the two sides can continue to strengthen communication to refine the public health system and safeguard public health.
The Secretary for Food and Health, Dr Ko Wing-man, and the Chairman of the Hospital Authority, Mr Anthony Wu, also attended the meeting.
