Special traffic arrangements for Tam Kung Festival

     Police will implement special traffic arrangements in Shau Kei Wan between 7am and 6.30pm on this Friday (May 17) to facilitate members of the public to celebrate the Tam Kung Festival.

(A) Road closures

1. Shau Kei Wan Main Street East between Factory Street and Tung Hei Road (except tram service);
2. Tam Kung Temple Road;
3. A Kung Ngam Village Road between Tung Hei Road and A Kung Ngam Road (except franchised buses);
4. Westbound Tung Hei Road between Island Eastern Corridor and Mong Lung Street (except franchised buses);
5. Eastbound Tung Hei Road between Oi Lai Street and the eastern junction with A Kung Ngam Village Road;
6. Eastbound Oi Lai Street between Oi Yin Street and Tung Hei Road;
7. Wang Wa Street;
8. Factory Street between Shau Kei Wan Main Street East and Wang Wa Street; and
9. Kam Wa Street between Mong Lung Street and Wang Wa Street.

(B) Traffic diversions

1. Traffic on eastbound Tung Hei Road heading for A Kung Ngam and Chai Wan will be diverted via Mong Lung Street, Factory Street, Aldrich Street and Chai Wan Road; and
2. Traffic on westbound Island Eastern Corridor heading for A Kung Ngam will be diverted via Nam On Lane, Shau Kei Wan Road, Chai Wan Road and A Kung Ngam Road.

(C) Suspension of bus stops and green minibus (GMB) terminus

1.The bus stops for route 82X on Aldrich Bay Road near Oi Yin Street, Tung Hei Road near Hong Kong Museum of Coastal Defence and Island Eastern Corridor outside Chai Wan Park; and
2. The GMB terminus of route 68 in Aldrich Garden. A temporary terminus will be set up at Oi Yin Street.

(D) Suspension of parking spaces

1. All metered parking spaces at Kam Wa Street between Mong Lung Street and Wang Wa Street;
2. All metered parking spaces at Wang Wa Street;
3. All motorcycle parking spaces at Kam Wa Street; and
4. .The public light bus parking spaces at Kam Wa Street between Shau Kei Wan Main Street East and Mong Lung Street.

     Any vehicles found illegally parked within the precinct of the above areas will be towed away without prior notice.

     Actual implementation will be made depending on traffic conditions in the area. Motorists are advised to exercise tolerance and patience and take heed of instructions of the Police on site.
