********************************************************

The following is issued on behalf of the Housing Authority:

Ballots were drawn today (May 15) for the sale of Surplus Home Ownership Scheme (HOS) flats under Phase 7 to determine applicants' order of flat selection. The Chairman of the Hong Kong Housing Authority (HA) Subsidised Housing Committee, Mr Stanley Wong, officiated at the ballot drawing.

The HA is offering in this phase 832 flats for sale, comprising 825 flats in Tin Chung Court at Tin Shui Wai and seven others in five different HOS courts. The sizes of the flats range from 40.1 square metres to 60.4 square metres in saleable area. More than 80 per cent of the flats are priced at $2 million or below, being set at a discount of 30 per cent off the market value. Some 14,200 applications were received, of which about 13,200 were White Forms and about 1,000 were Green Forms.

The Housing Department (HD) will vet the applications according to the ballot results, and will send out notifications in batches to invite eligible applicants to come to the office of the HOS Sales Unit in Lok Fu for flat selection commencing in late June. The applicants may make appointments to view the selected flats after flat selection. They are required to sign the Agreement for Sale and Purchase on the next working day after flat selection at the latest.

The ballot results have been uploaded onto a dedicated webpage at the HA/HD website at www.housingauthority.gov.hk/phase7. The priority list of the applications will be uploaded tomorrow to the above dedicated webpage. It will also be posted from tomorrow onwards at the HA Customer Service Centre in Lok Fu, the Estate Offices of the HA and the Hong Kong Housing Society, District Tenancy Management Offices, the Public Enquiry Service Centres of the Home Affairs Department and the Sham Shui Po Housing Information Centre. Applicants may also call the HA sales hotline 2712 8000 for enquiries.
