SEN to visit Singapore on green building and waste management

     The Secretary for the Environment, Mr Wong Kam-sing, will lead a delegation to Singapore from May 16 to 17 to learn about its latest developments in green building, energy efficiency and waste management.

     The delegation comprises members of the Steering Committee on the Promotion of Green Building. Joining the visit will be officials from the Architectural Services Department, Electrical and Mechanical Services Department, Buildings Department, Water Supplies Department, Government Property Agency and Planning Department.

     Mr Wong and the delegation will meet with the Minister for the Environment and Water Resources, Chairperson of the National Environment Agency and the President of Singapore Green Building Council. They will also be briefed by the Building and Construction Authority.

     The delegation will visit the Zero Energy Building and other green buildings certified for commercial, hotel and public uses. They will also tour an e-waste recycling plant and a waste-to-energy facility.

     Mr Wong and the delegation will depart Hong Kong tomorrow afternoon (May 15) and return to Hong Kong on Friday evening (May 17).
