Breastfeeding needs effort and determination. Despite the physical challenge, Debby Lam decided to breastfeed her baby son who was born four weeks premature, as she believes breast milk is the best way to nourish him.
"Nothing is better than breast milk. A mother is still a good mother even if she breastfeeds her baby only one day."
With her experience, Mrs Lam has joined a training project co-organised by the Department of Health and the Baby Friendly Hospital Initiative Hong Kong Association. She volunteers her time to share her breastfeeding experience with other women who have a child or are expecting one.
In an interview with news.gov.hk, Mrs Lam shares her happiness and difficulties, and discusses the support she received during her breastfeeding period.
