Special traffic arrangements for public processions

     Police will implement special traffic arrangements tomorrow (May 11) and on May 12 (Sunday) to facilitate the public processions to be held in Hong Kong Island and Kowloon respectively.

     A public procession will depart Victoria Park tomorrow at about 3.30pm for Central Government Complex via Sugar Street (westward), westbound Yee Wo Street, westbound Hennessy Road, westbound Queensway, Pacific Place footbridge, Queensway Plaza, Citic Tower footbridge, northern pavement of Harcourt Road (eastward) and western pavement of Tim Mei Avenue (northward).

     Police will intermittently close some traffic lanes along the procession route when necessary.

     Another public procession will depart Cheung Sha Wan Playground on May 12 at about 2pm for Hong Kong Cultural Centre via southbound Cheung Sha Wan Road between Cheung Sha Wan Playground and Wong Chuk Street, northbound Cheung Sha Wan Road between Wong Chuk Street and Boundary Street (southward), southbound Nathan Road, westbound Jordan Road and southbound Canton Road.

     Participants will use the offside traffic lane along the route, while the nearside traffic lane will be maintained for motorists.

     When the procession arrives at the junction of Cheung Sha Wan Road and Wong Chuk Street, traffic along northbound Nathan Road will be diverted to westbound Lai Chi Kok Road.

     Motorists are advised to drive with care and patience, and follow the instruction of the Police on site.
